Guys, I found this GK stack on Musicians Friend.. and I was wondering a couple things.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/prod...10SBXII115SBXII-Full-Stack-Package?sku=482547

Do you think it would be suitable for a Stingray - Metal Style? I know that GK are usually known for very good sound quality; but more specifically, has anyone ever used a stack like this for a MM Bass?

Thanks for the input. I think it's a steal of a price in my opinion.

It is a great price for a great amp that will work great at any gig.
I have giged with mine for close to 5 years without any problem. (I'm talking about the amp, i have no experience wiyh GK cabs).

I have the same amp. I use a 410 cab though. Great amp and I play in a hardcore/metal band and have no issues....get compliments on my tone/sound all the time...everyone knows I am there for sure.

Hi

I second what Artisan is saying - great price (certainly when you look at UK prices for GK gear!).

I gigged using the headline band's GK bass rig a few weeks back - really impressed with the sound and tone, complemented the 'ray very nicely.

I've always been impressed with GK amps since playing guitar through one in the late eighties / early nineties in the guitar shop I used to work in.

Wow, thanks for the advice/ info guys.

I'm going to seriously look into buying this one. Haha, after seeing all the 30th Anniversary SR4's.. i might buy one of those first X_x.

Such a hard decision. :)

I have one of the 1001 RB 2x10 combos for smaller shows and I love the head unit, but am not crazy about the speakers. My opinion for rock, you cannot beat a pre-F*nder SWR or a Bergantino. I have not tried Mark Bass yet. Plan to in Nashville next week.

Bottom line, love the head, but could use better speakers.

Easy decision: Get the 30th first! That GK rig looks mighty nice, but they'll make as many as they can sell for as long as they can sell them. The 30th otoh is more of a now or never deal, and i strongly suggest the "now" option.

Its hard to beat GK at any price point. I'm lovin' my 1001RBll, and haver used it with various MM's, and it always sounds tight. Even if you tune your SR5 to A flat, it still stays punchy and doesn't lose the growl. And GK, like EBMM, is a company that cares about the people who buy their product. Say what you want about VietnAmpeg:rolleyes: , there are some combinations of gear that just work perfectly, and MM/GK is one of them.

I love my GK. This past weekend, we played a gig & for some reason, the PA was getting some buzz from my 1001RB-II. I just cranked it a bit more & played the gig without PA support. I don't think I've ever played at such an extreme volume, but the head & my Neo 212 handled it like a champ!

i fully agree,
i've played through all sorts of rigs over the years and of them all the G.K. is the only one that gives me a bar on .
