Just had a closer look at that. Doesn't seem right to me. I thought all 20th Anniversary necks were birds eye maple, that one isn't though.

Thanks Bud, I must say it's very tempting (I rather fancy a graff neck), but I've got my eye on something which, while maybe not as exclusive, is a real looker. If it comes off, I'll reveal all in a week......

JB1 yeah I like the graphite neck I am looking at getting a status graphite neck for one of my 4 string rays that don't get much action at the moment to see how they sound and play ( cheaper than a 100th ann.)

Y'know Scott, having the NAMM would be nice, but I have to say that it's a collectors piece IMO and I doubt I'd want to play it.

You're right about getting a status neck and it's something I'm toying with also.

When you do get yours, I'd like to hear about it.

great minds think a like even though BP likes people to play his instruments I think I would be scared that some drunkin knob would damage the bass during a gig.

I am looking at ordering in a few weeks I am going through a huge fretless phase at the moment so still deciding whether to get a fretless or fretted then If I decide on Fretless line markings or not - ooh the pain!!!!

The exact reason I don't hand over my bass to anybody, with exception to a *very* limited number of people I trust explicitly...and even then there's a certain amount of apprehension!

When we play weddings and the like, I bring an extra bass just in case someone demands to sit in...

Decisions decisions Scott, let us know what you decide.

As far a someone standing in, with me it ain't gonna happen. It's MY gig!

I'd just want a collectors to stay mint, so therefore probably even play it. I know it goes against BP's philosophy, but it could be my pension dammit!

Well, if it's the one paying us, we always sort of welcome him/her. Handing over a beaten-up 4-string mongrel, saying "what do you want to play?" gets some of them off the stage, but not all. We have done stuff like Iron Man and Bon Jovi-songs with guys hardly able to stand up straight. Our keyboard player is good at filling in bass when that ahappens:D

Well Strummer, I suppose you gotta make exceptions for the one who's paying you!
