I dont think so bro. That section of the bridge that had the threaded holes for the thumbscrews for the mutes has been chopped completely off the new MM bridges. :( My sterling had the transition bridge to where they hadnt chopped that section off yet, but rather stuck 4 allen wrench head bolts where the thumbscrews for the mute adjustment once was. Heres a pic of my bass before the mute were installed and you can see what im talking about.

A little history regarding mute pads.

The reason we took them off the basses is because somebody cut their finger on the sharp edge of the stainless pad holder and threatened to sue us. Our lawyers advised us that if we couldn't make it safer that we would be open to many lawsuits. Only in America.

Any chance of a re-release if we send in notarized declarations that we aren't litigiously minded dumbasses?

I had often wondered if safety (and litigation) was the downfall of the mute assembly.

the first we kill all the lawyers,

Thanks for the info BP. I think the bass that bears your name has the most awesome playing neck of any bass on earth!! Its a shame that one dumb a$$ can ruin a good thing for everyone else. Maybe you could laser engrave a tiny disclosure somewhere on the bridge warning that the mutes may be sharp. :D

Big Poppa,

I think we ought to spare Gav. He seems to be both nice, *and* an attorney.

Of course, this is only possible in the southern hemisphere.

Lotsa things are different down there... like the direction the water spins when you flush the toilet.. :D

You probably ought to have your significant other take a look at that declaration before you sign it. :p

I'm still trying to process the concept that someone used the word "glee" in a thread title and no one but me, apparently, is going to say anything about it.

Last week I played a pre-EB MM bass that had the mute pad bridge. I recalled someone said somebody had cut their finger on the edges. After giving it a feel (so dirty... :p), I didn't find it sharp at all. In essence, plus 1 with Aragorn: Shame some dumb a$$ had to spoil it.

Ahh, a Ren & Stimpy fan. I thought I was the only one left. (Not that I'm into every trivial detail, I just like gratuitous violence and disgusting imagery.)

However, I do know that the song, "Happy Happy Joy Joy" was performed by Stinky Wizzleteats.
