Steve,

I am from Regent Square.

Yeah, I do agree that there ain't a whole lot of selection in the MM department in the Burgh. If I were to get a new one, I would proabably order it through P 'n' S. Swissvale usually has a few hangin' around, but P 'n' S has the best prices. Hollowoods is pricey!

Hey, send me an email if you want to chat about anything, I am sure the forum folks don't give a s**t about our conversations....

I change my stings before every session. I also play 4 nights a week and i change every other night. I have a 69 p-bass w/ old dead flats for that old "thud" sound, but I agree that you can not add clarity when it was never there and you can always fine tune your eq in the mix after its on tape.

Hey Lefty, are you going to record through a direct box like I did or are you going to mike your amp?

Ended up doin' both. Di and mike both ended up going into a value emulator and then straight into Pro Tools running on a MAC.

It was a long day in a cramped studio. Went OK. I am never really happy with what I have recorded because I never really relax into the "take" and with people queuing up behind me to do their bits and the £'s ticking away, it's difficult for me to be anything other than solid.

If I find out how to host MP3's I try and load them up when they are finished or I'll put up a link to the band website.

We have to get the lead vocals on yet - That will be interesting. I hope Pro Tools has a "make the vocal sound in tune" button.
