My Luke came with 9's on it and they are great, but was thinking of moving up to 10's. What will I have to change on my guitar when I do this? Also wondering if I will have to file the nut for the strings to fit.

What Brasco said, you don't need to change the nut.

However, you will needs to adjust the truss rod, and possibly the saddles and springs depending on how you like your string height.

My best advice is to take it to a good guitar tech.

I have 10's on my Luke. No nut changes, but a few minor tweaks to the intonation and truss rod were involved in my case. Take it to a good luthier for a setup if unsure.

I just got a luke a few days ago. It had 10's. I usually use 9's so I changed them out. I am going back to the 10's cuz I think it played smoother with them. I find it more of a struggle with the 9's. weird huh
I think the smallness of the neck makes it almost to easy to play.
I had a Luke last year and felt it gave me hand cramps. This is my second go around

I currently am trying 10s on one of my Luke's since that was the only gauge I had available (ran out of 9s). I need to play it more to give it a fair assessment, but obviously it's more taut and good for rhythm etc..it does sound fuller but I think right now I prefer the 9s especially while using the trem.

I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment. I picked up a JP with 10s, and now can't decide whether to change the Luke's up to 10s or drop the JP to 9s :s

10s are the way to go! They dont feel too floppy, not too tight, but sound fuller with more balls hehehe. As soon as I get my LUKE 10s will go on it. And as Dean said, tuned to Eb you wont feel like you are playing with rubberbands.

I've been using 9-46 Ernie Ball Hybrid's in standard tuning for a long time now. The thick end of a 10 gauge pack and the thin end of a 9 gauge pack. Both of my Luke's have been perfect for me with these strings.

I love getting a BOX of strings! I've been going with 9's forever but i need to give 10's a try on at least one of my lukes.

The mathematical formula of string sets needed as your guitar collection grows is frightening....unless you happen to be a string manufacturer. :D

Well if you put 10s on and tune down a half step it would feel as if you had 9s on it. I have switched from 9s to 10s many times with no setup required as long as the guitar has a stop tail. If it has a trem a setup will be needed.

I put 10s on my Luke. Sounds great! I had to adjust the trem and intonation accordingly. I'm just used to 10s and 9s feel too loose now.
