Tonight.....

Great night. Himself sang a song (???), played some bass, and mostly just spoke off the cuff and answered questions.

I wouldn't call it a workshop .....but it was a wonderfull night.

I believe it, and sorry I missed it. One of the reasons I like TL so much, completely regardless of his bass playing, is that he's a real nice guy.

Hey over all I had a good time, but I could have lived with out his theory on the origins of life.

Besides that it was a good evening. Some people I know complained that he didn't play much. However, I found he had a lot of interesting stories.

I was very suprised that EB didn't send any products with Tony (for the Show & Sale the next day). While I was excited to hear him play (the first time I've seen him play live in person) but I was more excited about seeing some new Bongos. I'd have liked to get my hands on a fretless. The one good thing about them not sending any hot axes here was wifey let me sleep in the bed that night. The dog house is getting cramped.

The best thing about the evening was his right hand technique. I'm not sure what it's called but he does this thing where he chords above the 12th, and then runs 3 (possibly 4 but it looked like 3) fingers in succession across the chorded strings. It comes out sounding like a harmonic but chorded.. very neat sound.

Hey and you gotta love groove sticks!!! :D

Tony Levin Snapped this photo from the stage after the clinic. He was pleased and had a great time. To some of you who went to see this, maybe you can point yourself out in the photo......

I'm way over on the right, just outside of the pic.... if you see the guy who's leaning on the wall on the right hand side of the pic. I'm just ahead of him. I was up against this radiator which was loosly attached to the wall, and hot!

:) good pic though.

Actually there were a few. My wife would have come out but she was working. The crowd was mostly bass players as well. At least there were a lot of hands that went up when asked.

You know EVERYONE wants to be a bass player. :p

Hey Kevl...come down to Bearly's some Sunday night. I play in the house band there for the blues jam and will also be there next weekend with Roger Howse. All are welcome to sit in on Sundays.
