Excellent work, it really looks great !!

I have the time, I just wish I had the coin to have my way with a Sub. It would definitely be pretty wild.

That looks NICE! How much did the spray cost you?

We want details!

Get a white pickguard for that!

Excellent.

How are you finishing this one off....... white pearl PG? Black controls?

(Don't answer the questions, you'll spoil the upcoming pics........... I have reserves of popcorn!)

Yum, I like it.

If I were a betting man, I'd say Pagan Gold? :)

Looks great who did the work?

You are correct. :)
Big thanks to Fred for pointing me in the right direction on the color (House of Kolor "Pagan Gold" kandy). In case you didn't see it in the "Official Pics" thread, Fred recently had a Luke refinished in this color.

I ended up going with Marty Bell (www.martybellfinishing.com). He was the best combination of price & timeliness out of the three places I received quotes from. He originally quoted me about a 2 week turnaround, but he got the body on the 5th and shipped it out today (11th)! One of the other shops estimated 6-8 weeks and another was 8 weeks.

Marty's been nothing but a class act to deal with. He's answered every call and email I've sent. As far as the cost, you can check his website for price estimates. I paid pretty close to what's listed there.

Regarding cosmetics...can't decide yet. For now I'm going to leave the factory black pickguard and see how it looks for a while. I figure it will look pretty good with the headstock being black as well. Just couldn't bring myself to have someone paint over the factory headstock decals and such. The pearloid pickguard IS an interesting thought though...

Dang it, you and luv are putting ideas in my head. Pearloid PG & black controls would make it look a lot like Mr. Morse's "guitar center tour" BFR:

Very special looking in that gold colour.

I agree with keeping the headstock decal, show it proudly.

It's all back together!
The Pagan Gold is kind of tricky to photograph. The color shifts from a dark gold to a bright yellow the more light it gets (especially indoors). It was overcast this afternoon when I snapped these few.

Any thoughts on the pickguard? It definitely looks cool with the matching headstock, but I'm wanting to try a pearloid one on it. Wish someone could do a mockup. <COUGH>...browndog<COUGH>

I love it! It came out real good! I also think a white pearl pickguard would look amazing on that girl. Maybe a tort shell one too? some chrome covers on the pickups would set it off as well I think. It would give it a nice classy vibe!
