My 2006 LE Ray's gold hardware is still in excellent condition. When I clean/polish the bass with guitar polish - I include the hardware. I suppose this reduces oxidation - and keeping finger oils and gunk off the hardware can't hurt either.

My 2006 LE Ray is a 2H - exactly the same as the pics you posted - other than the black strings .... and loving it.

+1 - that SR5 2008LE looks great.

PS I think there's a thread somewhere on here about the GC Anniversary pace car blue specials - with gold hardware. There are some pics also. V cool combination IMO.
