Hi Folks,

With the great amount of information and convincing from reading the posts here, I have took the plunge and ordered a Candy Red Bongo 4 HH with black pearloid pickguard.

Now the waiting begins. I will eventually post pics when it comes in.

Now I need a nice amp (for my use, approx. 300 watts) to pair with it.

Again many thanks,

You know what, I am not particularly drawn to the look of the Bongo but I think that colour is the best one I have seen on it so far.

Congrats on the (almost) new bass!

Hi The Unrepentant,

What amp are you using? I've been dabbling with guitar for the past 5 years and now I am getting back into bass. I used to use an old Peavey Mark amp years ago - long gone. I am looking for something not too expensive, but a 'good bang for the buck'. A few folks have suggested amps that are a little out of my spending league right now - a nice 300 watt combo would be great.

Thanks,

Shepp...

i use a behringer ultrabass bx1200, it's crap :( never buy behringer! Although i am trying to save for an ampeg BA115, 100w 15" combo, tried one out and it's really nice. I couldn't really tell you much about 300W combos though because i've really only tried amps in my price range, being a jobless 16 year old it doesn't leave a lot of room for splurging! seriously though, i think most people on this forum will tell you ampeg or markbass. Really only you can decide though right?
