I've just increased my MM ownership to 3 so I thought why not join the forum.

Over a year ago I initially owned a translucent 'orange' Stingray and bought a matching Sterling that is just stunning, solid and tonally awesome. The Ray didn't get played much and went but the Sterling's a real keeper.

I've gathered GAS for a 4 string Bongo over a little while now. Yesterday I took my Lakland Deluxe down the Motorway to exchange for a Bongo + cash and came home with a Black 4 string HH and a Blue (Cobalt?) 5 string H/S strung EADGC.

With 2 Bongo's (7 basses) who needs cash.

I love the style and they play so well. The solidness and quality of the beasts sits well with me too.

Does anyone sell any Bongo merchandise? Either side of the pond?

So that's it, I'm a Brit and not ashamed of that, work in school and as a counseller and do a lot of cycling too - no engine!

Welcome to the forums!

I don't technically own ANY EBMM's and I still troll around. I'm sure you'll fit in nicely though. Post pics of your gear sometime.

No need to be. We don't hold that hold 'taxation without representation' thing against you anymore. And even if the others did, I wouldn't, having had a trans orange Stingray myself.

Well, and I might share a little of that Bongo love, too.

Cobalt might be Carbon Blue Pearl? Commonly abbreviated CBP around these parts.

Now get some photos up!

And welcome.

Welcome to the forum. With 2 bongos you will find little need for those other basses.

Don't worry about the homeland thing they even let Kansas folk hang out here. :D

Have some fun here.

welcome...we love people from across the pond

Indeed they do! (provided we don't make it across the pond of course) ;)

Welcome to the forum - whereabout are you in the UK? It's always good to have more UK peeps on here :)

Can't wait to see some pics of all 3 of your basses!

Thanks for the warm greetings.

Okay Guys, here's a couple of quick snaps in my very busy attic/boys toys room.

As Paul knows, this pair of Bongos are like a family in that they seem to want to stay together!

Jolly good, old chap .....

I didn't know that you colonials still talked like that Mark, oh well :)

Exercise is just like music, stimulating and satisfying, when you're good at it.

A musician I am, sadly not.

Welcome!

Beautiful pictures. I love your rig, too! I've always found it interesting to hear what people traded in or sold to get their Bongos.

Which do you prefer, the HH or HS?

Good question

At Alan's where I traded them and played them through his Galien Kruger (sp?) it was the H/S. At home through the Yamaha or Roland cube it'd be the H/H.

Too early to say yet really.

Added later:

I've just spent a little time playing both basses set up flat through both my amps. The H/S has a greater output and sounds more 'woody' and complex. This may in part be due to the bigger body too.

I'd have to say that at the moment the H/S has it.
