Hi peeps!

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good pedal that'll add a bit more sustain. I just want the notes to ring out a little more.
I was recording a guitar part the other week, that had a lot of tremolo involved, and i noticed that the use of tremolo (tremolo arm i mean) really shortens the life of notes hehe.
Would one of Xotic Booster pedal help in this domain? RC Booster maybe?

Thanks y'all!

Ever thought about getting a Fernandez Sustainer pickup? Would solve the sustain problem for sure. As far as a pedal I'm not sure.

Cool Deano, that might be the answer. I always liked Xotic's stuff.
I'm not that keen on swaping pickups. I love my EMG;s in my Luke.

Also, which one do you have Deano, they come in orange , black , red?
I'm guessing they all do a different thing.

How about adding a bit of delay? A long delay could give you the illusion of sustain. I think a delay like one of the t.c. electronic delays that shortens up the delay time as you play faster is pretty cool. That's pretty much a JP trick.

I use a Keeley Modded TS9 for my dirt boost, adds a bit of gain in the front and smooths out my tone.

I use the Keeley compressor for my clean boost and add nice chime and sustain to my clean tone.

I've heard nothing but outstanding things about the Xotic BB and the Hermia Zendrive.

Might get the Zendrive to replace my TS9, not sure yet.

Yeah, Rob pretty much hit it!! "Delay" is the key! However, you need a good quality delay pedal, (TC Elec, Eventide, Damage Control);

it's not just about getting sustain or a repeat - IT'S HOW THE SIGNAL IS PROCESSED BY THE DELAY DEVICE TO PRODUCE THE REPEAT!!!!

I use delay of my TC G-System, but its not really what i'm chasing. I want notes to ring out longer.
I've seen some great videos of BB Preamp on youtube, and it's exactly what i'm after.
Thanks guys

have you thought about compression? If you are happy with your tone and want to add sustain without changing your tone then look at a high quality compressor. I use the 4 knob Keeley and can get sustain for days (if I wanted too)

Bingo, I was just going to say the same thing. Sounds like you should look at a compressor.

Same here - compressor.

The EH soul Preacher is good value for the money.

Did you try a very short delay with a lot of Regeneration ???
If the delay is short enough, you will not here the echo but just the regeneration, thus a long sustain.

If you like your sound already , might I suggest a compressor pedal. Doesn't color your tone, but levels eveything out and gives a bit more crunch
