That bass lines is part of my warm up everyday, I love Bernard Edwards, smooth, economical and FUNKY! Good Times indeed, boy is sadly missed.

Good Times LIVE - 1996 - Bernard Edwards on the Music Man Ray 2 Band Yah

If you know the song..great...If You Don't Learn it now.

SOLO and TONE Fest at 3:10

You're spot on - Bernard Edwards is one of the greats IMHO - and it's not easy to get his tone and feel but really well worth trying - almost every song he wrote/played on has a wonderful bass line and this one must be one of the all time greatest bass hooks. The main reason I originally bought a Musicman bass, and my biggest playing influence. Great that the rappers borrowed the Chic song so Nile borrowed back their version for the middle bit of the live version!

This version sounds just great - very poignant seeing this as Bernard passed away that very night after the concert.

Thanks for posting, I just love the playing!

He is a legend one of my fav baselines. Everybody here can play this line but I wonder how many of us get the same feel/time as Bernard ;-)
