Hi Azzy and Trev

Really sorry to hear about the break in, most importantly really glad to hear you 2 are both unharmed , and your geetars are safe.
At least your stuff that was robbed was covered by insurance.
Reminded me that I must get contents insurance for my place ...

Best wishes to you both and good luck with the move.

cheers

Jim

Wow, that's rough Azzy, really sorry to hear about your loss! But as everyone else has said, at least you weren't home at the time and at least you still have your guitars (more valuable than your laptop).

Most definitely someone emptied the bin in your kitchen to take the bag for hauling purposes, which is probably why they weren't able to carry your guitars. And the fact I've been to your place (assuming it is the same place) and remembering all those stairs also suggests why your guitars were left behind! :)

Seems strange out of all the flats in your building yours was targetted as it is near the top (unless thieves believe they are less visible up there), so I can understand why some forumites suggest it could well be someone who has visited your flat before.

Good vibes being sent your way, and now I hear you are moving to London you are going to need them! Sorry, but my "love" for our capital is well known in many circles. ;)

Thankyou all so much guys - I've managed to not cry since last night, but you lot have just brought me out in a fresh flood :) It's no exaggeration to say that I love you all A LOT!

BP - sorry to hear about your Macbook - I'm waiting for my replacement so I can restore my backup and see how much stuff I've lost - I'm hoping it's not a lot - but it doesn't make it any less gutting. Hope you manage to find it!

Unfortunately, we've been told that our front door can't be replaced until Tuesday - which is a pain - and we just don't feel safe there anymore now - I hope we can get our move sorted asap - unfortunately it is a ground floor flat we're moving to, but we're within a stone's throw of a new police station - so you'd have to be mental to try and break in there.

We have also realised that my housekeeping/food money for next week has been nicked, but the insurers are sending out a cheque for that, so no real biggie. The daft thing is, I'm not that fussed about stuff being gone, it's the fact that there was someone IN THERE, rifling through our stuff that gets me. But I know we have gotten off SO lightly.

On a happier note, Trev was still spreading the EBMM word last night - the guy who came round to do all the fingerprinting is a bit of a guitarist (he has a think for PRS), and Trev was describing his AL to him, and you could just tell he was itching to see it. So out of the case it comes, blokes jaw drops and all he can say is "Wow, I don't normally like burst finishes... but that......." :D

Am going to print this thread out to take home to Trev - he needs cheering up and I know the above comments from you all will mean a lot to him. Thankyou guys.

Sorry to Azz, and BP - Hopefully everything ends up fine, and you get your stuff back. Glad nobody was hurt.

That sucks hearing you got broke in. I kinda know the feeling...

Monday night I heard voices and a car door slam right out-front my house. I peered out the window to see two asshats standing in the bed of my wife's truck throwing out the cases of water bottles she had back there. They broke into the truck too and dumped everything out of the glove box and center console.
I busted out the front door and yelled WTF! One started running, the other kinda just froze there slowly walking away backwards. He then started telling me don't come near because he had a gun. We exchanged a few choice words, and I said BS and told him to show me the gun, and when he couldn't show me a thing, I told him I'm going to get my rifle! As soon I went for the house door, they took off running (as I expected).
So I quickly called the cops and three cars were in the neighborhood within minutes. Within 10 minutes they caught one of the guys, and turned out he had a warrant out for his arrest too. Both guys were lit...drunk or stoned or whatever. POS's.
Man, nothing like that has ever happened in my neighborhood, it's always such a quiet place.

That's why I always keep the Walther within arms reach! :D

Hey Azzy
So sorry to hear about this personal violation.
Yes they are scum - but there's some great people out there too, and they outweigh the scum of this world.

You and Trev are safe and you will be starting afresh soon.
Good luck to you both on your new phase.

Sounds like you were robbed by the Dumber Than Dogsh!t Gang Too. When they visited us in January they left all my valuable music gear as well, and just took small items such as digital cameras, which have since been replaced by insurance with newer, better models, so the outcome was actually pretty good for us. We've since improved the physical security of the house 200%, so if they pay us a return visit they will be very disappointed, not to mention injured, depending on the time of day they arrive.

Mark do you have the new "electro-tecticles 2000" installed in your home?

We don't have the latest technology, so we use several analogue versions that are equally as effective ....
