Congrat man! We need a tone report ASAP!

Mesa tubes should be good. But JJs tend to get the highest number of thumbs up...
Did you take a look at t the preamp tubes?

One thing though, is just play the damn thing first.
If it sounds good to you, there's no rush to change the tubes.

You'll have to change the power tubes a few times, or at least once, a year anyway. When they're due, get jj's.

And have fun!

OH MY F*****G GOD!!!

I SHOULD HAVE GOT ONE OF THESE 10 YRS AGO!!!

what an awesome sounding amp! there are sooo many tone variations you can get with this amp.

the lead channel has a great punch! but yet with the rhythm channel you can get some nice warm tones too.

it sound great with my EBMM EVH, it sounds good with my LPs, it even sounds good with that old kramer!

I LIKE IT!!! :D

If you like the tone you get now, don't change the tubes, when it's time to change them, then try some other brands.

I can't wait to crank mine tonight, it's been a while since l've been to band practise, and been hanging to give my amp a good thumping, and blow all the web out.

Scott.

Hey great you like it, these are not the stock tubes. There are Mesa Boogies 6l6GC.
Ask the seller if he only put them in or had them biased by a service man to run properly. Then your save.

The Boogie tubes are Russian made (Sovtek?) Probably a good tube, alot of people find them harsh though. Also note, the 5150 Combo has a fixed Bias, it cannot be adjusted without a modification to the amp. It is supposedly biased warmer than the 5150 Head. Eurotubes will be able to send you JJ 6L6's that are tested and work within the correct bias of the amp. If you were to order the stock combo retube kit, it includes 5 12AX7's (one balanced for the phase inverter (socket 5)), and two 6L6's properly rated for the fixed bias.
