Quickie audio clip of the Gold Roller at the bottom. Hopefully this weekend I will have the time to make a vid for youtube.
I am extremely and pleasantly surprised with this guitar. Dargin told me it sounded awesome, but other than that I really didn't know what to expect. The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was that this guitar is light! It's a toss-up between the Gold Roller and the Rad Red AL for the "lightest in store" award. I played it unplugged for a few minutes, and feeling the resonance of the body I knew this would sound awesome when plugged in.
So, here we go!
Cleans - simply sparkling. The middle position is my favorite at the moment, but the bridge is just out of this world wild. The minibuckers give full humbucker output, but barely take up as much room as a single coil, so they don't get in the way of poor technique, which I quickly noticed.
Overdrive - HOT! HOT! HOT! I usually play with the gain just above 11:00, but on this guitar I backed off to 9:00. Here's the shocker: I think I like this one just as much as the 20th Silhouette, which I usually bump the gain up just past 12:00. I think the 20th is a bit more meaty, but this guitar just makes me say "wow" when I play it. Yes, I said "wow" about 10 times while making the clip.
Settings:
Clean Preamp at 12:00 noon, OD Preamp at 9:00, all EQ settings & presence at 12:00 noon through SLO-100. Depth control off.
OD:
Left channel - bridge pickup
Right channel - both pickups
Center - neck pickup
Clip starts off with clean in middle position (both mini buckers), then moves to bridge, then neck.
I usually play with .010s so the .009s on here threw me for a bit of a loop and I often fretted slightly sharp. I didn't stretch the G enough, so it went out of tune on me a few times (my own fault). No hiccups with the guitar.

BP/Dargin, any plans on making one of these with a tremolo and/or rosewood? A rosewood trem Gold Roller would knock the JP out as my #1 gigging guitar, especially playing with Yellow 9.
Official pics will be on our site this evening.
