I recently put a Gotoh floyd rose on my parts mutt guitar to better match the radius of the fretboard than the OFR's. That worked well, but I have less sustain now. The Gotoh is much lighter, so I think that's why. Any recommendations? Do these take those "big blocks" i keep hearing about? I know EVH used a bigger sustain block with his 5150 guitar, which had an OFR. Will the Gotoh floyd fit one of these blocks?

Not sure, sorry, but I'd be curious to know if the block did anything to the sound too.

what did you replace the Gotoh with? Was it a non locking type trem? if that's the case adding a locking nut will add to a change in sound. I block all my trems with a wood block
