These questions came up here and there so I thought what a good thread idea.

Your guitars are yours to do with as you please. Me, I like EMG's in SiLOs.
The neck is an EMG 85 just like the one in the bridge in the Luke. The middle is an EMG single coil and the bridge is an EMG 89. Let's discuss.
The EMG 89 is an EMG 85 with coil splitting capability. When in split coil mode the coil under the logo is active. I really like the pup selection #2 on the stock SiLO (inside coil in the bridge and the middle single coil) so that's what I wanted to keep.
EMGs can be oriented either way under the strings. Also there is the EMG 89R (Reversed) that has the logo on the other side but that would mean two things. 1. I have the patience to order and wait for it. 2. I would be doing things NorMally and I just don't seem to be physically capable of doing that.
On this guitar the 89 is default to humbucker mode. It is put in single coil mode by pulling out the volume knob. I really like the clean look of that system. Speaking of clean looks; the 5 way was also replaced so the guitar shares the switching system with a y2d. (B, B+M, M, B+N, N) This way I can run both humbuckers at the same time.
Thanks for letting me share.
