They should consider this - it might take out some of the dead spots on the first string.

Are dead spots that big of a problem?? I havent noticed dead spots on my EBMM basses.

Ive not had many MM basses But all 3 that ive had played beautifully with no dead spots at all.

Do I need a truss rod that is less themally active than the wood in my neck?
How about an even better marketing element?
Say, depleted plutonium truss rods... anyone? Perfectly stable, always warm to the touch, never freezes on long flights, optical PUs, find your guitar in the dark, contraceptive control, long time players grow antlers...
