If that wasn't a joke, I have one word, hack.

Not that I'm defending the woman (she looks like she could do that herself...) but if she's playing in a pro band making money doing what she likes, I wouldn't mind being that kind of hack either. :D


But maybe I'd use roast beef instead. :p

I have been playing pro for many years and never found the need for food products on my bass.. If she is wanting something extra in her sound maybe she should work on her technique. Just sad that maybe some younger bassists may actually give this a try if they are fans.

Thats a little extreme for me....wow.

But personally, I HATE NEW STRINGS. I remember in one of my bass books, the author was singing their praises on how BRIGHT and nice they sound. I prefer a nice broken in set. New strings sound terrible in my opinion, finger sliding and movement is amplified and they just have a harsh metallic ring to them.

When Im breaking a new set in, I usually rub lotion all over my hands, but not all the way into my skin. And then play some scales and just hit random note around the neck and a bunch of slides. Works for me.
