I edited it a bit to add in some forgotten stuff, give it another read dude. :)

ADDENDUM: Maybe pull the auction, and ask dude who was bidding if he'd like to throw down on the G that you wanted for it, tell him that the auction was supposed to list it with a reserve, but it never carried over...lie heavily if you have to. :D

Then if dude refuses, then you can relist with a clean conscience, and not use the deadbeat card, but definitely use the ass twitch card to balance it out.

:D I love how I'm conspiring to "help you lie" to get through this...you know that my intentions are good, it's just a minor manipulation of the system...

And your my MODERATOR?????
:D :D :D :D

I know you're being honest, and I wouldn't advise altering the guitar. You should just re-word your description to re-assure potential bidders. I would
alo incluse a pic of the back of the headstock to confirm to bidders it is an EBMM made in San Luis Obispo.

I think thats the same reason some of us made a stink about the word lawsuit in there...not to beat a dead horse...but I tend to find it easier to sell on ebay without the use of any extraneous wordplay...

btw Steve, good luck on the suhr dude.

$860, with 9 hrs 57 mins to go...and the high bidder has 2 feedbacks, both positives:

-"Great communication. A pleasure to do business with." (as a seller)
-"Great guy! easy to work with-very recommended-A+++" (as a buyer)

You might actually dodge this bullet, son...bring on the other 48. :D

Sorry but I can't help but to laugh through all of this ...anyhoo Steve, its only off by 90.00, its not the end of the world, life's all about learning and I'm sure you just learned something valuable...and I mean no disrespect here at all, I am not laughing at you, just at the whole situation...

You may not end an auction within 12 hours of the end. These are eBay's rules which you agreed to when you signed up to use eBay. You ended the Item early to sell to the highest bidder at the current price. Which is fine if you're actually going to sell it to them, otherwise, the bidder now has the right to give you neg feedback and complain about youy for not selling the item to them. If they do that you may get suspended in worse case. Prolly will just get a warning. Either way, you will still have to pay the fees for using the site.

Unfortunately, your "Reserve the right to end auction" does not supercede the rules.

I'm honoring the auction without question. My mistake for not being up on the rules.
I already spoke with the buyer via email. Sometimes you have to take a loss.
Who cares, the money is financing my new Suhr guitar, so I guess I should be happy.
It's only a measly $910 bucks+$27.30 for paypal fees, but it helps so that I don't have to spend more out of pocket.

Now, that is exactly how it should be, why aren't more people like you? Take responsibility for their actions... too few and far in-between in this world.. Bravo, sir!

You've earned my respect today. (I guess I should mention that is a hard thing to do.... at least in this world we live in.)

I would expect the same if I was buying, so morally I have no choice.
I would never screw anyone on any deal weather it's ebay, here or any forum.
We all make mistakes and learn from them.
And to be honest, I really didn't take a loss at all if you think about it.
I bought that guitar and my white sparkle Albert Lee for $1300 for both shipped.....:D
So, in reality, I got the better end of the deal, had only paid less than $400 for the AL
Here they are when I first got them.......And not Al's not for sale...LOL

OH! I see how it is! Forget what I said! j/k

Yay, capitalism!

At least you did get surplus out of it, there is a lucky buyer out there, however.

That's why I like this forum... I think I've found the jackpot of good people..... either that or I'm just looking in the wrong places in the waking world.

Well, sh*t...so you didn't end the auction as I suggested to you 14 hours before the end. Sucks to be you...

On the other hand, you're only out $90 less than what you wanted, so that's not too bad. You're locked in to honoring the auction, whether you want to or not, but obviously you will, so kudos...you understand that I was not suggesting you to back out for the sake of not selling, etc. but for correcting the mistake of no reserve at time of placement.

Then again, this was when the auction was only showing like 6 medium for your six. Glad it at least got up there...

Enjoy. :)

I had the bid up that was at 850.00 but when he said he was going to pull the auction. I never followed up. I just guess it was never meant to be. BTW I did email Steve and told him if he pulled the auction I had no problem with it.
