Thanks Sterling.

Today is Saturday.
Monday morning I leave on a business trip (I'm a flight attendant), back home Thursday night. The first thing I'll do on Friday morning is get the CD in the mail to you.

Looking at that old picture of our two dads.....they had no idea that many decades later their two kids would be talking about their careers.
And look at the legacy that Ernie has left....amazing.

Anyway....the CD will be on its way to you soon.

Diane

Hi Sterling

Just got home from work and wanted to let you know that I just got dads CD's off to you. So you could keep an eye out for them. I saw earlier in this thread that you have a sister, so I have sent one for her too.

There are two songs with your dad on them. His solos just aren't long enough. He plays a sweet steel.
I suggest that you listen to them.....LOUD!:D

The CD booklet has lots of history. Ernies mentioned. And pics...but none of Ernie.

On "Wild wild young men", Its Ernies steel, and a lead guitar solo from future Merle Haggard sideman Roy Nichols. Fantastic. Also a discography to show all musicians in "Eddie Cletro and His Roundup Boys".
"When the sun goes down" really showcases your dads incredible talent.
On "Hey Little Dreamboat", (Ernies not on this one). But there is a fantastic solo by Merle Travis. Merle was a good friend of dads as they worked together for many years on a daily radio show entitled "Stuart Hamblins Lucky Stars". Host was Cliffie Stone. Anyway......
Track #15 is ME at age 8 singing with my dad. I'm sure that you'll get a good laugh out of that one.

Hope that you and your family enjoy it.

Thanks to you and all the guys on here for allowing me to invade your space here for a little bit. Been fun.

I feel happy...my Dad was happiest back in his playing days

Good! I love to make folks happy...prolly a flight attendant thing.

The CDs will be there supposedly on Tuesday via U.P.S.
I would be interested to hear what you think after you hear em.
Maybe you've heard this stuff before....as I said, Ernies part isn't long enough. But its there!

I used to go to work with my dad alot as a little kid. I was a brat. All the musicians put up with alot from me.
I remember your dad as a gentleman.

They were all great guys as well as fantastic musicians. Some of the songs were real corny from back then, but the musician ship was incredible. Which is why I worked to get the music all together and get it published so future generations could appreciate them as well.
So the moral of the story to all you musicians out there: Be patient with the rugrats running around during your rehersals and shows.
You never know what they may grow up to do.
I tried to attach a pic from the 50's. But I'm not too good at this.

Hi Sterling.........

Just wanted to check to see if the CD's I sent got there sometime last week?

If they didn't, let me know, and I can track them down.

To answer your last post to me:
I really am happy. Giddy. Love what I do...and thats one thing that the company can't take away from me.

I dream about flight attendants all the time! :)

I wish there were more threads like this one. You know, historical stuff.
