Ya, I know…I’ve been exercising very poor forum etiquette. NO excuse Sir—other than the usual things that consume ones life beyond the internet. I have not tried the Y2K. It looks as though Steve got rid of one of the single coils, but I real like having both, so I’m not really jonesing for one...yet. I need to cough up for two new Egnater heads anyway (ouch).
I have both and I really enjoy the neck on the Y2D, make sure you post your opinions if you try one...

Colin is it true that the neck on the new ( regular ) Morse's are thin like the Y2D? I'd be keen on a regular Morse if the neck is a bit fatter like it used to be.

They re-scanned Steve's neck for the Y2D and that same neck is on the new Morses. So a new Morse will have the thinner neck and an older one has the thicker one.

thanks Beej, i heard someone say here that they played a new regular Morse and the neck was not any different to the Y2D, that it too had updated. most of the guys here have older Morse's so guess i'll never know unless i buy one.
I heard that too, maybe someone can clarify?

Hey Ponch,

Thanks for the enthusiasm! We are new and independent band, so a full U.S. isn't in the plans, but we are actively seeking booking for a Summer East Coast tour.

Thanks again,

John

John...please let me know if you are out in the NY area on the tour...I'd love to check you guys out...thanks!

J.

Bad News and Good News,

Bad news is we won't be doing the East Coast thing this Summer due to new projects I have going on that are eating my brain and time.

Good news is the above mentioned projects! I was asked by the German drummer Wunderkind, Marco Minnemann, to compose music to a 52-minute long drum solo from hell. Marco has also asked Mike Keneally (Zappa/Vai guitarist and multi-instrumentalist) and Alex Machasek (burning Austrian fusion+ guitarist) to compose to the same solo. The plan is to release a big set of CDs later this year or singles if members die off in the process due to the difficulty of the task. I’m pretty much a nerdy dweeb so I’m down with all the multiple independent ostinati polyrhythms Marco can throw at me. (or so I say)

If you’d like to check out the first section I have written/recorder\d over his drums, you can check it out here. Please go to the track at the bottom of my page that is called “Border Towns Intro (demo)”. Of course my main electric is an EB SM hardtail with RMC piezo in the bridge. The rhythm guitar in the right side is a Gretsch. The banjo is a Deering. My underwear is Haynes. This intro is pretty up the middle, but it gets very crazy soon thereafter. I will post more when it becomes available if anyone is interested in hearing what I do with my EB MM SM on this uniquely impossible new project.

I have been checking out John's playing from finding out about him on the Gear Page. Your playing is mighty tasty John - makes me want to donate my Morse guitar to you so it can get the workout it deserves.

Oh yeah on the donation thing, not really :D ;)

Thank you very much for checking this new clip out. As you could probably tell from my post, I am very excited to be working on this project. Thanks for all the nice comments. Now I know where to come to raise my self-esteem!
