yes the winter show is always in Southern Cal and the summer show is typically in Nashville

NAMM is a trade show and is not open to the general public (except the last day- i believe) and that day is usually a complete utter mad house, so it pays to go in the other days if you can get in.

I was fortunate last year to get in with my uncles drum company... but other wise i'm up a creek and can only think about getting in and this year i was too busy at my own job to slip away for the show. I'm hoping for next year... and maybe meet BP at Chilis for some good eats and a few laughs... HINT HINT BP!!! :)

My favorite happened in early '80's when steve morse was at the lexicon booth and doing a demo to about 12 of us. i had been a fan for a couple years by then. some guy had a polaroid camera that spit out pictures...look it up if youve never herd of them!

so i asked if he'd take a pic of me and steve. next thing you know im posing w steve him holding the guitar and me positioning his fingers to play a fifth position A bar chord. Had it made into a shirt and wore it to the first mm open house.

more recent memories revolve around being welcome at the ernie ball booth and hanging with execs, artists, and the good people of this forum.
