Hello All,

I just bought a brand-new Axis and have been keeping very busy playing until my fingers give out and surfing this fantastic forum until my mouse clicking finger can't click anymore. :)

I've had my eyes on the musicman guitars since the EVH model made it's debut. I have been playing the same old guitar for about 15 years and decided that it was finally time to get serious and buy a new guitar.

When it is convenient, would one of the forum moderators please give me a DOB on my Axis? I've got serial #: G09486 The guitar has the quilted top and is a delicious emerald green! :D

I'll try and post a couple pictures in the "post your guitar pictures" section soon.

A great purchase, Daddy-O. Congrats and welcome! Would you mind updating your profile to add your location? Sometimes it helps make sense of things when we know where people are typing from. ;)

Can't wait to see your pics.

Thanks guys! I'm glad to be here. I'm not from the MusicShack. Just a Daddy-o who is hopefully more "hip" than "square". Now that I've got the magic Axis and this happening forum, I can't miss! :)

BTW - SteveB, looks like we are both "rockin" in the Burg! ;)

Yo Daddy-O!

You'll find being on this forum is like taking a trip to coolsville. We are one bunch of Hep-cats, if ya catch my drift. Catch you on the flipside.

Daddy-O...

Cool! Another Pittsburgher on this forum (there are at least two other guys from Pgh who post occasionally on these boards).

Looks like Pittsburgh is catching Music Man fever! What part of town do you call home? I'm in the North Hills.

I'm in the South Hills. What music stores do you frequent away up north? Midnight Music? I've heard that's a good one and they have had some big names put on guitar clinics in the past.

All the best for your band. I was checking out your site. I like the songs, nice work.

I never go to Midnight Music. I knew Doug (the owner) way back in the day, and his wife was a good friend of mine in junior high. He downsized his store when he moved it, and he has almost nothing for sale there. Mostly lessons these days.

I try to buy from Brighton Music Center when I can, because I've been dealing with Jim Botti (the owner) for decades, and he's a real stand-up guy. However, he doesn't have the dealership for a lot of the stuff I like. So like everyone else, I hit Piano's-n-Stuff quite a bit. Sometimes Hollowood, although their recent move has made them more of a haul. I've been to the new GC in Robinson a few times, and the older one in Monroeville on rare occasions. We also have Guitars Plus up here in the north, but I never manage to get there either, even though it's close to home.

PnS is still the king of Pittsburgh area music stores. Where do you South Hills folks go for gear? I used to hit Specialty Guitar Shop in the Dormont area back when it existed. I caught a Steve Morse seminar there back in the 80's. I was just a teenager in those days.

I like Swissvale Music. (more east than south) For used stuff it's Ebay and then Musicgoround. Unless it's just strings or picks or something cheap, then there are a half dozen other small music stores around this area.

Occasionally, I make the trip north to New York music in Boardman, Ohio.

Daddy-O,

I almost went to NY Music in Boardman to buy my Petrucci. They had some in stock, but none with all the features I wanted. In the end, though, I ordered it through Pianos-n-Stuff. They ordered the exact guitar I wanted, and gave me an excellent price. To this day, I haven't heard a better price from anyone. So keep them in mind if you're looking for a Music Man!
