Group II Flats on my 30th

It took a week or so to settle in, but the tone is simply magnificent. Pesky string noise is gone, clarity in the fundamental is precise, and did I mention the punch? This set of strings is a keeper.

I have III's on mine. Something about flats and that hog bodied SR=magic.

I tried the IIs but went back to my preferred Group I flats. The IIs had great tone but were too floppy for my tastes.

I've got group III's on my buttercream, which, takes some getting used to. I'm pretty sure they'll never be on my 30th.

Do you like the sound on your buttercream? Why not try them on the 30th? Just curious.

I wouldn't say I'm wild about the sound of my buttercream. I'm okay with it and it serves it's purpose (having a second bass on stage with a completely different sound for certain songs).

With regard to the the 30th, well, it's been said that is the best Stingray ever made. And since Stingrays have a unique sound all to themselves, one I happen to love, why mess with it. OEM equipment all the way. Hell, I haven't even changed out the strap locks.

I'm seriously considering to put flats on my Sterling 5 HS when my new Reflex 5 HH arrive!

I have group IIIs on my 30th and really like it. That said, I would like to try the TI's. Just so dang expensive......

I'm lazy, and this is prolly a dumb question, but what's the difference between Group II and III?

And don't say 1 or somebody's gettin' hurt...
