How cool is that? Wouldn't you like to sit down with Jim for about a week and just pick his brain? Think of the legends that guy has been around and the stories he has.

Unbelievable how cool they were to you and thanks for sharing! This was a great read.

thank you Dazed - it was cool and a truly memorable experience.

I promise to write up a full report of the day and get a link to it - I think the full story will be good read too!

Awesome story Spud - and what a day for you! Looking forward to the full read. Pug is right - that pic needs a blow up and a frame. BTW, which Marshall combo do you have?

Congrats on a day you will remember forever!

yeah Norrin it was a great day.

I have a few pics from the day's events, that I will be framing that's for sure.

The Marshall combo I have is the 25/50 1 x 12 Silver Jubilee, which I bought brand new in 1987.

It has been well gigged but bears no battle scars whatsoever.

Here is a picture of it next to a Leather covered limited edition Marshall amp that was agreed upon between Jim & the managing director of Jaguar. There were 40 made and had gold plated components and I bleeb that they were sold for £4000 each - all proceeds going to charity.

I am currently writing a blog of the events leading up to the day, and of course a report of the day itself

Nice one Spud,

I met Jim in 94 at the Scottish Music show in Glasgow, that man has real passion, Totally cool meeting a legend like that, Shame about Jim's stroke,

But I bet he'll out last us all!

The wall of marshall looks amazing, would they let you go back and you could sneak us all in under a jacket???

Armed to the teeth with balls!!!!!

Yes it is a shame about his stroke - he later had a bout of pneumonia.
Anybody can have a tour of the factory - Maybe we should organise a knucklehead get together and take in the tour?

Machinehead isn't too far away either.

I smell a ............. ROADTRIP!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy for you for having a great day out. Every photo explains how happy you were without you even telling us!!

Hmm some JM whisky, a bunch of ernie ball nutters and a whackload of amps to try.

I think somehow the police may be called to the marshall factory because of the noise level hahaha.

Can't wait for your write-up.

Yeah I know Ed - but it just seemed the right time to post (and bump) the thread - lot's of people have joined the forum since I posted it - and it just brought back some sweet memories.
