Thanks everyone, especially the brand for making it available. It feels amazing to look over and see one of the best [if not the best] 7 strings in production sitting in it's case in my room. I feel like a better player already.

And I'm sure it feels more amazing to play the best 7-string in production!

What is all this nonsense???

You've waited all these months for this guitar and now you are wasting time on here, posting endless pictures and talking about it. On top of that you now say "It feels amazing to look over and see one of the best [if not the best] 7 strings in production sitting in it's case in my room."

PLAY THE POOR THING!!!!!!!!!!!

I took this to mean ...

It feels amazing to look over and see (IN DISBELIEF THAT ITS HERE, AND I OWN IT) one of the best [if not the best] 7 strings in production sitting in it's case in my room.

That I can totally relate to, happens every time I get a new Ball.

Hit the nail on the head there [Andy, I'm not going to have the thing sitting in my lap not being played while I talk to all you fine folk, thats just rude]. I went from struggling to play low end model and used and beat up gear to having this piece of gold, it still hasn't hit me that it's mine to use haha.

Plaschkes, we match man haha, yea I love the D Sonic and the piezo. First thing I did when I broke it out of the box was switch to piezo and played the intro to A Change of Seasons and my jaw just hit the floor. I thought I was going to have to fight it a bit to make it sound as good as Petrucci, but man... golden. And then of course I had to play that Harmonic upstroke rake in the beginning of The Mirror a thousand times to try out the D Sonic haha I'm loving everything about this guitar, the balance is great, the arm contour couldn't be more perfect, the neck is one of the thinnest I've ever touched, and I'm gifted with some hefty birdseye :]

I'm really really pissed because I have a crap amp right now and the distortion, regardless of how I set my Noise Suppressor, always has this nasty electronic buzz anytime I try to get some silence between notes. For instance, The glass Prison:

Jehnehnehneh. [rrrrrrr]. Jehnehnehneh, jenehnehneh. [rrr] etc... haha

Time to upgrade, but of course that won't be until I have the funds.

Right now I'm running JP7 > Boss NS2 > Digitech Whammy > Orig. Cry Baby > Randall RG75w for all my cleans and distortion, piezo and mag. I did experiment with the piezo I bit today running direct into my computer and recorded a little riff idea and it sounded brilliant, I just wish I was as satisfied with the tone from the amp.

Yeah, the piezo really doesn't come thru that well on a regular amp as it does thru a DI or acoustic amp.

Regarding the noise, that also might be coming from the DS7, it tends to pickup quite a lot of hum of of computer screens and power outlets, so watch out with it.

Agreed on the piezo, it sounded a thousand times better running direct. I read on here a few days ago about someone that was having their own problems with buzz. I tried rearranging my power strips and such, no avail. I'll have to invest in some hum cancelling devices soon, I can't stand the noise, it makes the petrucci useless.
