It's hard to fault George L for that. Being a DIY cable, it's really going to depend on who made the cables and properly tested them. Unless of course it was a rep who made em. Then that's bad.

While I found George L's quality (tone-wise) was perfect for my use (pedalboard), I ended up switching to Lava cables coz they're just easier to work with. I was using George L's for almost 2 years before one of 'em just decided to stop working and I took a lot of tries to get it working again (maybe I'm doing it wrong?).

Anyway, found a seller who was getting rid of a whole bunch of Lava cables so decided to give 'em a go and it was so much easier putting them together. All cables (but one) was working at first attempt - the other one took 2 tries but that was my fault (with trying to have the shortest possible patch lead).

Tone-wise, I can't tell much diff between George L's and Lava. Both are very good.

Mogami and Neutrik for me too, but I'm lazy. I found a company in L.A. that makes custom cables for a really nice price. I've also got a bunch of George L's around. I have had problems with the connection going bad with those, but I'm 100% sure it's user error. I just take em apart, trim the ends and rebuild em.

Worked at an exhibition and one of the pedal boards had george L's. It was nothing but trouble and ended up stripping them out. George L had a stand there ironically enough and after the exhib I swore that I would never use them

thanks for the explanation. thats sounds like a horrible experience.

No solderless connection works forever, avoid it! For bedroom use only.
My Pedaltrain is wired with George L and Neutrik plugs.
And of course there´s more to think about a good working board than the cable but use excellent stuff throughout.
Why send an EBMM guitar through ****ty equipment?

Gosh, it almost sounds like I'm a demonstrator (which I'm not). That pedalboard takes a hammering. What I personally use is good quality cable and neutriks. - even then with use/abuse I get the occasional signal breakdown problem when setting up.

Personally I have my entire setup with DiMarzio cables. Super reliable and sound gorgeous.

I tried George L's for a while, but I had a couple of them crap out on me (during gigs) so I switched to DiMarzio and never looked back. ;)

Jeez I feel so left out of the cool kid crowd not using Mogami's now! lol
