So, I am totally new here - and I found this site by searching for "music man guitar center 45th anniversary" because I just bought one. I LOVE it. It is the most beautiful bass in my collection.
I am excited to join the Music Man Brotherhood (sisterhood?!?) after being a Fender man since, well, since the late 80s. I was saving my $$ for a Rickenbacker 4003. I had sold some gear on eBay and was putting gig money away to finally own the "dream" bass. Well, I went into my local Guitar Center yesterday and saw this amazing piece of equipment - the Guitar Center 45th anniversary Sting Ray 5. I had a Sterling SB14 and loved that but could not stop looking at this thing. I took it off the wall and plugged it in and fell instantly in love with the feel, the playability and the sound.
So, please excuse my ignorance, but this is a SR5 - but what's the official model if it has two pickups?
I am sold. I will always love my Geddy Lee Jazz and my 1993 Fender Jazz with the Long Horn, but I just played my first gig with this SR today and, damn, it's the sweetest bass I've ever played on stage.
