Jimi D,

Thanx for the info. There's a bunch not far from where I live. The problem with Guitar Center is that they claim to have to lowest proes, but they forget to include the awesome hard shell case that comes standard with all EB/MM instruments. Then they throw another 100+ on top of whatever price they quote you.

They have a website that you can search if memory serves me right.

Just be careful with this place I've heard more bad things than good.

Best of luck.

The GC here has two mystic sixes non piezo. Marked at 1659 my man on the inside said he could do 1300 (No case of course). Not really a blow out. A nice one just like it went on ebay with a BIN of 1100. It got snatched pretty quick.

I just checked at one of the GC's near me and they didn't know anything about discontinuing the Music Man line. The guy I talked to owns at least 3 MMs and he said he would have an issue with it if they did.

Their prices were NOT blowout prices. They did have a really nice looking Sil. Spec. in kind of a two toned rust sparkle finish. Very pretty and played nice (although the neck was filthy).

Went to the one in Manhattan today. They had a JP model on Clearance for $1359.

It looked like the non piezo model in pearl red burst without the matching headstock. They had it hanging on the top rack on the wall which is like 10 feet up from eye level.

Funny thing is that I didn't see any other MM Guitars except for OLPs. They did have a good selection of EB MM basses though.

I was at GC the other day and there was an Axis in natural wood (awesome color) that was offered to me at $1000 (sticker was at $1450) because of the stress crack blemish. So, I guess GC willl discount axes with blemishes. I did not want to deal with the problem(s?); so, I passed on the deal.

The GC near me has a couple of Redburst Petrucci 6's tagged for $999. No piezo and no case included.

They also have a Mystic Dream that has been beat to death. The strings are laying on the frets. It's really sad to see the way they allow the customers to abuse such nice equipment.

GC is weird. The one near me has 2 very old Axis Sports (not SS) that have problems and are used. They overpaid for them and won't come down from $799, which is nuts.

Re: Petrucci

Im the one that snatched the BIN off ebay...

What a steal that was... I could not be happier and it looks so good on the stand next to my Steve Morse model... :)

Great guitars!:D Too bad I cant play them both at the same time.

I was at the GC in Cleveland over the weekend, and noticed exacty one Axis, and a ton of OLP's. Lotsa MM basses as well. I thought it was odd that there weren't any other MM guitars, and I too wondered if they were going to drop the line.

I snagged an Axis Sport with MM90's in black sparkle for $599 sans case from the same store about a month ago, but haven't seen any MM "blowouts" since then.

Who knows what they're doing......
