Hey Guys & Gals -

We've recently partnered with our friends at Guitar Center in their massive nationwide search for the best blues guitarist. The King of the Blues winner will not only walk away with $25,000 in cash, but will also get tons of prizes from vendors including EB.

Check out the site and sign up or if blues isn't your thing, please pass the word onto others who may be interested.

King of the Blues - Guitar Center

Thanks,

Brian

I love playing blues......but I also know that everyone down at DuBaldos would play circles around me left handed with 2 hands tied behind their back and their head in a bucket of water........

I've been waiting for GC to bring this back. I love competing in these things. I'm not a Blues guitarist and hold no hope of winning; but I enjoy playing and meeting the other players. I also VERY glad EBMM is in on this!

The Guitar Center competitions are some of the greatest things to happen in American communities. These things are fantastic and even if you don't want to play please go down and watch. They are a lot of fun and you get to see super creative things. It's a great place to meet a friend and catch up with your neighbor.

EDIT:
This is just cool and makes me really happy that it is being brought back. I just checked the backing trak listings and it looks like there is a good selection of Funk there.
I do so love laying down the boogie. :)

Cool, I was wondering if they were going to do this again. I was a judge in 2007 for the local store competition and for the district finals. My dad also was a judge in both 2006 & 2007. Lots of fun.

The link above didn't work for me, so here's a different one:

I remember doing this competition way back a few years ago when I was a kid at the Cerritos Guitar Center.

I was doing well until some old timer came in and totally showed me up and mopped my licks all over the floor. Such a shattering experience as a youngen. :D

It's a great experience! I was just a judge in the first round of the 'King of the Blues' in a GC in Chicago, IL. Good backing tracks, Great talents ...

Good luck to all the competitors!
