Guitar Center LOST a sale on a StingRay Bass

I just got home from my local Guitar Center, in Marietta, Georgia.

I went there for one reason, to order a brand new MusicMan StingRay Bass.
I told the '' Sales Manager '' I wanted a Trans Teal 4 string StingRay, 3 band EQ, and a rosewood fretboard - and then he says, '' Trans Teal is a discontinued color ''


My heart was broken.......... I asked him if he was sure, and he said Yes.

I guess I'll have to decide on a different color and settle for not getting my beloved Trans Teal

That sucks man. I was quite fond of that colour too... and they even have a SR at my local dealer but it has a maple board.

It's entirely possible that one exists somewhere in the dealer network. Try calling customer service...they may be able to tell you if any of the dealers has ordered such a beast. You could then chase it down.

+1. id call EBMM customer support and they may be able to help you find a dealer that has one in stock.

I was kinda wondering the same thing....but, sorry you can't get that color. As suggested, give CS a call and maybe they can help locate one for you. Good Luck.

Someplace in NY called The Music Zoo, shows to have a Trans Teal SR4, but it doesn't mention fretboard type.

Trans Teal is discontinued? Now see how well connected I am? I had no idea.

(For whatever it's worth, and I think we all assume it's worth zip, I was never crazy about Trans Teal.)

On the other hand, there are some very nice blue finishes to choose from.

And with some colors biting the proverbial dust, others are bound to come riding over the proverbial hill.

One other thing.

I've kept it to myself because it could be my monitor or the camera or the flash or whatever, but I always thought that bass you were lusting after was NOT trans teal. It looked a lot like Carbon Blue Pearl to me.
