talked w/ steve some this weekend about the new guitar. i told him inquiring minds need to know here at the forum..........

"1. the slanted pickup gets in the way some times, physically.* People often have it's switch in the wrong position, weakening the sound.* It saves weight, and I never use it live anymore. "

"2. They are going to have binding, but smaller and more radius so it will be like my normal guitar w/ rounded edges "

"3. The pickguard gives a flat, predictable surface to support the RH.....for my style, anyway.** RH muting of unplayed strings, and volume knob manipulations are integral to my style.*"*

2. You gonna be a part of this tour? How many shows you gonna catch?

3. Any chance you'll end up with the new non-binding guitar he played during the LA show? It was perty.

4. Jesus, listen to me yap.

:D

I rarely play higher than the 17th!

I gotta start learning and using artificial harmonics like steve does.

BTW--Watched a little DIXIE DREGS this weekend playing the NAMM show in June of 1988! No violin and steve had short hair. Jerry Peek did a guest spot on Cruise Missle, but other than that it was DAVE. Must have been really early in their collaboration.

Orange you are too funny :D

The guy that picked you up on that Colin is a mate of mine. I'd been telling him for months to join the forum because the guys on here know everything there is to know about EBMM's

The first post he read was yours :D

He's been ragging me about it for days.

OC, don't miss it. He'll have so many shows under his belt by then that it'll be as good as you'll ever find. His SMB band is rock all the way minus the 2 song classical medley.

TinD, VFTC is my second favorite on that cd. CANDIDE is first. The layering is tremendous and everytime it goes around another voice joins in. Has a vibe a bit like VISTA GRANDE. Very nice work!! Is the acoustic tuned differently?
