today i went to buy some black Jazz III's, but they were the same texture as the red ones, i went to three stores and found the same thing. i was told the new way they make em results in that smooth feel.

can you guys here that have the old style rough black ones verify that they can still be purchased? maybe its just in australia....

I use the black jazz II's, but usually i use the clear purple stubby's. I like how they are tapered, they feel as if they make just the right contact with the string and then glide off easy. I am weird though :p

I'm another user. Like Colin I buy them in bulk too. The strange thing is I can never seem to find one when I need it.

I only have a black one, and if I lose it, I'm screwed! I can never play without using them. (or at least, as well)

I use the Jazz III picks myself. I gave em a try because of JP of course. I used to use the Gator Grip 1.14mm (blue), .96mm (purple) and 2mm (Green), but I just never got incredibly comfortable with them. That's why I was using all 3 depending on how it felt from day to day. Then I tried the Jazz 3 and something was just right about it from the beginning. I had to get used to it tho because they are much smaller and my nail would hit the string instead of the pick. But after couple of hours of practicing I had it and never looked back...well I did once just to confirm that these were the best.
Oh and they are the red ones. I have not seen any of the black around, but who cares as long as it works.
