So what are you guys using? I ordered a couple of the Ultimate Genesis GS-200s and my JP doesn't fit. The bottom arms are too far apart to support the body so only the neck is being held. I'm not really a fan of the Hercules ones either that only hold the neck, so what are you guys using?

i've started using the hercules stands that support the guitar by the head stock and then rest on foam padding for the body... they're the best stand that i've found to this point... and the guitar won't fall off the stand because the headstock is locked into place...

I'm just not sure about those ones that only hold the headstock.

+1 on Hercules stands. There are two types of the Hercules. I like the newer ones where the back of the guitar rests on the legs of the stand. Even if you bump into them, I dont think they would tip over.

I'm a fan of the Quicklok stands.

I've got a 3 and a 5. They work left or right, fold up, are large enough to fit acoustics and separated so you won't inadvertently bump them together when returning or removing a guitar.

Looks nice Beej. So do you leave your guitars in these all the time or do you put them back in the case after each use at home and just use the Quickloks for the stage?

I use on-stage stands "flip it." It is like a "regular" guitar stand, with a sort of arm that is spring loaded to keep the guitar from falling out of the stand. Pretty neat design I think.

I used to use stands, I'm too lazy to tote around the extra gear now. I just lay my guitar back in or on the case on top of one of my cabinets now.

Gettin' lazy in my old age. :D haha

That being said, I used to use the Ultimate stands, they weren't amazing or anything, but I never had any issues either.

They're for home. The guitars are all out, all the time.

For gigs I usually don't bother with stands ... one in a gig bag, if I take a backup it's in a case. Where I've also had to play bass or acoustic, I'll bring the smaller stand (the 3).

I use Hercules too mostly, but if you want something really light that folds completely flat for gigs, these are pretty good.

TALON guitar stand

The only downside is if you use Shaller straplocks, you have to unhitch the lower 'body' one before putting the guitar on the stand or else the straplock pushes against the floor.

Useful bit of kit though...:)

Well, I decided to go with the little mini Hercules stand I posted.
