guitar strings size and guage???

hi, ive been playing guitar for a long time but never knew what exactly the size and guages of the strings mean?..and what are better for soloing and such?

String guage and size iss aa player choice,every one who plays guitar and in many diffferent styles will find that they need to expirment with different stuff to see what best suits them,9x42 is a very light guagegreat for beginners,once you jump to the 10x46 guage the tone of the strings takes a mighty leap,try different things.........it wont hurt anything.

It all depends on the sound u want
play around with all sizes
i like the stainless steel power size my self
