i have been using the digital reference 3500 for the past 2 years with no problem at all. it sounds pretty good and works very well. wasnt too expensive either. my bass player had a shure system and it always seemed something went wrong with it but i dont know how well he took care of it.
i've heard somegood things about the new line 6 wireles systems but i have not has any experience with them yet.

I've got the sennheiser g3 ew500 and it's great. You definitely get what you pay for with wireless, so don't spend anything less than $800ish for one.

That being said, I've also heard good things about the line6 stuff, and I think thats a little cheaper...

I use the Line 6 X2 XDS-Plus system and am very delighted with it. No loss of signal and works flawlessly

I've been using the Line 6 X2 also. We went to wireless in-ear monitors back in September, so I'm now free to roam all over the place. No issues with the X2.

it's not important....But if you really want to kn
I used to use a cheapo AKG system which was noisy, unreliable and killed every ounce of tone from the instrument. I've been using a Shure SLX series system (which, while not the cheapest it's by no means un-affordable) for 3 or 4 years now and never had any problems, no dropping out, no loss of tone, but as everyone else says, the Line 6 ones seem to be getting rave reviews all over the place

+1 best wireless I've ever used. Maintains your tone while other wireless units lose something along the way.

Line 6 G50 this thing will go way further than I ever thought possible. No loss or change of tone no matter how far away I go. I was outside of a club we were playing at (probably 200' away from my amp) , so I went across the street...still good, so I went into the club across the street, still good! At this point I could no longer hear myself due to the other band playing there, and had to call a fellow band mate on my cell phone to find out if it was still working. I don't need to go that far away from the stage.......

New owner of Line 6 Relay G50 here, am very happy with it. Used a MF 15% off coupon so it was like $340. Compared its sound vs. that of the cable, I could not tell a difference. My first wireless ever, I am completely thrilled with the sensation of mobility while playing. Not thrilled about having to use batteries but will deal with it. Haven't gigged with it yet but did go outside in the yard to see how loud I could set the amp without annoying the neighbors. All around the yard, in every room of the house, works flawlessly although I sensed a touch of latency when I had a few walls between be and the receiver. To be expected I suppose, but no noticable latency when playing in line of sight.

any more than 30 feet away your ears will perceive latency even w/a cable....but it will be due to the time it takes for the sound wave to reach you from the amp.....not due to tracking.

I use Samson Synth 5 system. It's brilliant and has superb range which is good as I usually head off into the crowd at some stage in the evening.

hm line 6 ay i was told it uses the same frequency as the Wi gaming thing?
is this true?

The digital systems operate at 2.4GHz, which is the same frequency as Wii's and also Wi-Fi (and many Microwave ovens for that matter).

There shouldn't be any interference caused by other units, but there is an outside possibility that the bandwidth could become overloaded (but you'd have to be playing in a room full of people with I-phones, laptops etc). On the whole though, you should be ok.
