Tori Amos brother, Live from “Hard Rock live” (MTV), his guitar tone on that show was amazing… particularly in “Sugar” and “Father Lucifer”. It had a big influence on me. - Moded telecaster, unknown amps… In case you don’t know what I’m talking about: YouTube - Tori Amos - Sugar (HRL)

Wow, I never thought I'd see Tori Amos on this forum... one of my all time favourite artists. Her drummer, Matt Chamberlain, deserves praise too as one of the most inventive drummers out there...no standard 4/4 loops from him!

Here's a few of my choices for the list...

I alway's thought that tone should be judged from live music, so here's a few of my choices. Don't know much about there setups other than guitars and amps.

Luke - While my Guitar Gently Weeps
Best tone I've ever heard, just amazing to my ears.

Bill Kirchen - Hot Rod Lincoln
Very simple setup in a small club, never heard a Tele make the tone that he pulls out, great video if you've never seen it. Needs to play a AL though!

I caught the 2007 G3 concert. Petrucci's tone and playing was way tastier than Satch and Gilbert. His tone was big time impressive.
