I voted for Clapton and Young! but preffer Page, why is it that when people do these poles they never mention Peter Green? once recognised (buy other top players) as the best in the world.

There are so many great gutiarist that I did not even think of when I was doing this poll. My mind kinda went blank. I chose my #1 cc deville (from Poison) Because they were the first band that I thought was awesome. So I guess he inspired me. Before that I was never really familiar with bands like Zeplin or cream Hendrix etc.

I read an interview once where Eric Clapton said he would not even want to be on the same stage as danny gatton... Now that's a compliment.

Hey Nancy, I am fired up about your mention of Hampton. That guy never gets the respect he deserves as a great guitarist.

I would also add Steve Howe, Mark Knopfler and Jeff Beck. I mean there are a lot of great guys out there (Vai, Morse, Satch, Pettruci, etc...) but I think that some times I forget that there were a lot of great guitarists before 1980...

And Peter Green rocks. I saw him two years ago in Portland OR, and he was money...

Who is Marty Friedman? Does anyone eat chop liver? That sounds gross!
Hey did on ebay the guitar strap that is going for almost $400.00, because it is like the one Jimi Hendrix used back in the hippie days. I guess my straps are worth that much, if I ever decided to sell them, which I won't because I still use them.
