Halloween Gig

So my band has a sweet gig in center city Philly for halloween this year! I cant wait to play and we got a good sound guy coming out so its gonna be nice to hear my SR5 through my markbass cmd121 through big speakers again (sometimes the 12 inch is just not enough!) but anyway its a theme show and the theme is Cell block- as in cops and robbers kinda stuff.

We wanna do a theme such as famous celebrities who have been in jail- we have a female singer who is gonna try and dress as lindsay lohan or martha stuart, my guitarist is going to be peewee herman lol but i have NO idea who to dress like! Any ideas?

Also, any of you guys ever played a halloween show and use any cool decorations for your rig or any fun props on stage?

Lesson learned last Halloween….

Whatever you do, make it a costume you can move and sweat in all night long.

What makes a good costume for a party really doesn't work on stage. You're not only moving around a lot, but you also have to see and play. And you don't want to scratch your bass. (Unless you're Koogs, that is.)

Last year I went as Fu Manchu… had an awesome oriental smoking jacket and did a Fu Manchu mustache held on with spirit gum. What a frakkin' mess. The smoking jacket was so hot it came off within ten minutes…. there went the costume. Total waste of time.

This year's costume is going to be much, much simpler and way more comfy.

You're lucky you can wear a costume. My band has a gig at a casino. Get this-we're not allowed to wear a costume if it includes a mask or any face paint. They cite security concerns as the reason. Gonna be a kinda of a bummer!
