I just celebrated the anniversary by clicking "Buy now" on fleabay. What have I done? It's a 2009 Stealth Bongo 4 HS with RW fretboard, and a Hipshot D-tuner. I have never even seen a Bongo in real life yet (they're not exactly plentiful around here), so I'm anxiously/eagerly waiting for it to arrive. I have to admit, my expectations are sky-high.

I'm not sure when my Blue Pearl 4HH was built, but it was fairly early in the production run. Jack was bugging the living hell out of everyone about how great they were, and he was right. My blue 4HH is, and has been since I ordered and received it sight-unseen from Musician's Friend, my number one bass. What a FANTASTIC instrument. Many have come and gone since then, but my blue Bongo is the only bass of mine that I love so much that even Paula knew it was my number one; and had Jackson's picture taken with it for a Father's Day gift when he was a toddler.

I just went back and dug on the forum, and my blue 4HH was born on 3/24/04...exactly one year to the day before my son was born.

I played a radio show today with Wallace Coleman (a great old bluesman from Cleveland) using my Stealth Bongo 4H with tape wounds, yes tape wounds. We had no drummer but the Bongo gave all the thump and punch necessary. The sound engineer, who had never seen nor heard of the EBMM Bongo was impressed. The Bongo can be anything you want it to be, today it was a blues machine.

LONDON, Australia, Switzerland... your guess is as
where is your bongo darlin?

He's being taken care of for me in Sydney while I'm away...poor thing in the heat!!

I do have the single H Big Al to keep me company (so very thankful), but bongo is my first love :) it just feels like home.

PS. Poppa you should come over to London for the Bass show in March! I'm going to be playing at the Strings and Things/EBMM stand with last year's scholarship winner Ellen (she's got a stingray 4, a bongo and a stingray 5 currently on order :) ), 2 blondies doing a bass duet :D :D :D I've told her you're awesome and she really wants to meet you!!

Recently I've noticed that I want a Bongo. Seems like some kind of obsession) I'm still in love with my SR5 but I MUST have Bongo too. Thoughts about it are overwhelming my head. :)

It's all that delicious meat you've been cooking, making us all very, very hungry.

I still play Aggie a lot as it is hard to start a gig with you drag in a 6 string bongo H. It intimidates guitards.
