Just got back from a parade (I play trumpet, too :D), and I've got a concert later tonight!

Oh Canada, indeed!

Didnt they change the name of this holiday....Tim Hortons day!

Yes. It was a huge consideration. However since Tim Hortons is also stateside now, they didn't want to confuse the Americans who already take the whole week off just for the 4th of July. This would in turn make them want to take an additional week off which would therefore become disastrous to the economy.

To quote a fun band from my Jr. High days ..............

Welcome to Canada, it's the Maple Leaf State.
Canada, oh Canada it's great!
The people are nice and they speak French too.
If you don't like it, man, you sniff glue.
The Great White North, their kilts are plaid,
Hosers take off, it's not half bad.
I want to be where yaks can run free,
Where Royal Mounties can arrest me.
Let's go to Canada, let's leave today,
Canada, oh, Canada, I Si Vous Plait.

Ah yes. Us lazy Americans are starving for more excuses for National Holidays. :D

Quick somebody assasinate somebody important or discover an island or something equally worthy of a spot on the calendar so I can have another day off. :D

I need to go visit my dear Canadian friends in Peterborough... it's been too long...

Happy Canada day to all, and to all a good night.

Haha. I got you... I just felt guilty. :( :D:D

I'll hopefully visit Ontario sometime next summer.

LOL! No. Not guilty. Truly jealous.
You guys know how to do it right!
Most of our holidays fall on a Monday! It's just not the same as if it were a Friday.
