NICE!

I think that may be (to me) the best possible Bongo color scheme.

Buttercream/Tort being a close competitor...

Report on how it sounds on the gig!

Shoulda been more clear...the gig is an Octoberfest party on the 15th.

But tonight I get to play with my band...I want to see if I can make some books fall off the shelves in the rehearsal room. :D
That shouldn't be a problem. Doesn't take much for the Bongo, with just a bit of bass boost, to clear the sinuses! :D

First practice was great, but now I've got a new problem.

Every loose object in the room vibrates like crazy! :D:D Sounds like I'm inside a snare drum. Bzzz...brrrr...

I can't get over how great this bass sounds flat. It just kills.

There's something about that EBMM tone...it cuts through the mix so incredibly well, and you really feel it in your chest. I don't have to play super-loud, but I can ear EVERYTHING I'm doing...including all the mistakes, dammit.

The piezo added a bit more harshness than I really like, but I'm pretty sure that's due largely to the brand new strings. I generally prefer strings that are still alive, but coughing up blood. I'm still trying to learn my way around the preamp...it'll take a while before I really have it dialed in just right.

Alright, I'm switching to a tort 'guard. That looks sweeet man!

+1 there. If ugly was cheese, the 'white ice' PG on my orange HH5 would be Wisconsin.

I'd been [uh oh] thinking. I thought I'd want the other 'tortise shell' color, like you see in gui*ar picks, that brown-yellow-black mixture, to go on an orange Bongo, and I couldn't seem to find that color anywhere. Thanks to the pix in this thread, I know the red-black torty is perfect.
