Happy Pancake Day

Pancake Day comes from Fat Tuesday. For those that don't know, Ash Wednesday (tomorrow) is the beginning of the Lenten season. During Lent, Christians who observe the season are supposed to give up something that they like. Traditionally, people have given up certain foods that are near and dear to them. To celebrate Fat Tuesday, people like to partake of things that they won't be able to have during Lent. Lent ends on Easter Sunday. It's also a reminder of the sacrafices that Jesus made. Lent lasts for 40 days.

BTW, when that pic of me was taken, I was on a Madi Gras float on Galveston Island a couple of years ago.
