the gunstock oil that is already on the neck will most likely repel ANY refinish product you put on it...

You need to sand out the tru oil finish before you apply any lacquer.

if you want a laquered neck, might i recommend looking for a sr4 30th anniversary or one of the roasted neck models.

most likely they will give you a better result than doing it yourself
