Now that the Tremel-No system is out I was thinking that I might attempt to pick up a Luke or Petrucci. However, I was wondering, why aren't these guitars available with the hardtail option? I never ever use trems and I'd rather just have a hardtail. The Luke and the JP or both very sweet looking guitars but the dang trem is just such a hang up for me.

The signature guitars are built to the artist's specifications. They are the artist's guitars that we get the privilege of owning also. If the artist doesn't use a hardtail or agree to its production, no hardtail is available for that model.

That is probably because both guitars are designed exactly to the specs of the artists that use them... I guess they both like to have trems on their guitars...

EDIT: Sigmunds, you beat me to it

just get the luke and have the trem tightened all the way down like a silhouette, its the same thing, not tonewise but it will feel the same, the pet trrem floats so you will need the tremelo - no thing -
