Other than the guy's name on the headstock, why wouldn't the Albert Lee be able to handle metal music? Is it the pup type?
Iron Maiden does fine with single coils!

All their strats have at least one humbucker. I think Smith is the only one who actually has single coils instead of single-sized humbuckers in the mid and neck - and he mostly uses the bridge humbucker.

As great as the AL single coils are they dont quite do metal. They do gain up nicely though for most rock applications, just not in the realm of metal.

since when is Iron Maiden metal??? Maybe back in the day i guess, these days its tame radio rock! The AL can handle Maiden ok, just not real heavy metal like Pantera, for example.

Sorry, don't think so... AFAIK they all are single coil sized SD humbuckers. Hot rails or Jeff Beck juniors.

And who's going to their (or Metallica, or..) concerts for their new stuff anyway.... When I saw them in 2005 at the Rock im Park festical they only did
songs from their first four albums. That was like a dream come true. None of the cheesy songs they did later.

^ I for one like their newer stuff as well... it has to be taken for what it is, it's not the balls out metal they did before. If it were, they would be exactly what they don't want to be; a parody of themselves. They continue to re-envent without losing their roots, and I love that. Not to mention there really are some amazing songs on Load, Reload, and St. Anger. It all just gets overlooked...

Anyone ever seen the review where the guy dogs the Silhouette over the nut being plastic?

Just looked it up...it's great, especially the part about EBMM being a faceless corporation that's unconcerned about their customers :D
