Has anyone tried the pod hd desktop?

Im considering one since I play mostly with headphones nowadays, and I have a class 5 to play it through if I want. I have an old pod 2.0 ive had for 7 years which I like, but this looks pretty cool, I was going to get an old peavey 5150 combo, cause I love the tone but I hardly ever get to play loud cause I live in an apartment, but Im on the fence, I would love to have an awesome real tube amp, but at 60 watts even on1 could be too loud for me. But the pod offers alot of features and cool stuff and Ive heard that they have come along way with modeling. What do you think?

Eric, it's all a bit subjective. I had a POD HD Pro for a short while and it felt a bit clinical and lifeless to me (having used an X3 Pro for several years prior to that). Have you heard about the Scuffham S Gear software amp? It is relatively inexpensive and has some really good quality amps and effects. Of course it is not as portable as a Pod so it may not fit your needs. You can download a free trial before committing to buy and imo is well worth a look.

Its gotta be a step up from the pod 2.0, which is all I have to play through, I mainly use headphones and like some of the tone I get now, but want something more modern with more features, and to be all inclusive without having to use a computer, I dont have one right now, all I have is my Iphone.
