So, all the BFRs will have rosewood fingerboards? That dark red burst would look nice with a maple fingerbord and a matching dark red headstock....just my 2 cents.

No. Tony Spinner played an ASS BFR proto with maple. There's also a BFR AL with maple. Also, I don't think that anyone can say for sure what the configuration of any BFRs is going to be unless it's announced by EBMM ahead of time. For example, we have seen the ASS BFRs and the 20th Ann. SR5 BFRs in the sticky threads on both the guitar and bass sides, respectively. Until specific BFRs go on sale, I don't think we can predict the availability of rosewood or maple on a particular BFR.

BFRs are anything the Ball family wants them to be. That may include maple fretboards.

I think I could go either way with it. One thing I am curious about is the neck. As far as I could tell from the pic, I think the one Morse's kid was playing had a maple neck whereas the one roburado is linking to is mohagany. that's another thing I think I could go either way with.

Well, like beej, I didn't get to plug the guitar in. As far as Kevin Morse's guitar is concerned, well...it was tough to tell what it sounded like compared to a regular ASS. Plus, BP referred to it as the Kevin Morse signature model. So, I don't know what's different about that guitar. The other thing that makes it hard to make comparisons is that a person's tone has a lot to do with their hands. So, I can't tell you if KM's guitar sounds the same or different, because I had never heard him play until Friday night. Now, if John Petrucci played a different guitar, I might be able to tell you something, because I know how he sounds on his old guitars vs. his BFRs.
