Hey Guys!

Pulled the trigger on a used JP6 original Blue Dawn (2001) in July!
What an amazing guitar! That Neck! Amazing Tone too!
However sometimes I experience the high e to be a bit too nasal and thin for my taste, i thought the pickups might have gotten "bad" a bit over the years( consider its a 10 year old guitar and used). Compared to my Les Paul Studio with (498 and 500) the les paul has so much more output and fatness on the high e. Always thought the JP6 Stock Pickups (custom Wound) were quite high output.

My second idea was that the wiring has been done inapropriately by the guy who owned the guitar before me!

So guys, I took a foto of the wiring, please try to figure out if everything is ok!
Maybe there is some kind of issue with a pickup out of phase?

Nice fiddle. Hard to say if there are any issues from the photo. Looks to be wired up ok, but can't say for sure. If you're handy with a soldering iron/multimeter, check to see that the solder points on the switch board are done correctly and don't contact the neighbouring contact. "Nasal" and "thin" don't sound like what I'd expect to hear, that can describe two coils out of phase.

Good place to start is to contact the MM support team, they can help you diagnose whether you have any issues. Or a local tech. Any chance someone near you has a JP of the same vintage? You could play it and compare.

I've had same issue with my JP. Noticeably on high e and b. extremely nasal is how I described it as well. Curious, do you hear difference when plugging into mono jack vs stereo jack? I did. Sounds better using mono cable thru mono/piezo jack. But I still suspect issues. I may be sending my JP to the factory to look at it.

Edit: i just realized your guitar does not have piezo so ignore my last question. hmm that is still strange; I know what you are describing though.

Thanks for the help guys, contacting CS may be a good idea !
Im thinking about swapping the pickups soon, wanted to try the CL/LF Combo anyway, so another reason to get it!
